Question 1

Where do you provide cat sitting services?

Accepted Answer

I cover Ipswich and surrounding areas. If you're unsure whether you're in my service area, use the postcode checker on my Meet & Greet page or get in touch — I'm happy to check for you.

Question 2

Do you charge extra for travel?

Accepted Answer

A travel contribution of 50p per mile applies, calculated by road distance from Jo's home address. The exact fee is worked out automatically when you enter your postcode during booking and is always shown clearly before you confirm — so there are no surprises.

Question 3

What visit types do you offer?

Accepted Answer

I offer three types of visits: a Single Daily Visit (roughly 30–45 mins), Twice Daily Visits (morning and evening), and Overnight Stays where I stay at your home overnight. All visits include feeding, fresh water, playtime, litter tray cleaning, and a welfare check.

Question 4

How far in advance should I book?

Accepted Answer

I recommend booking as early as possible, especially during peak periods like school holidays and Christmas. That said, I'll always try to accommodate last-minute requests where availability allows.

Question 5

What is a Meet & Greet and is it free?

Accepted Answer

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory visit where I come to your home to meet you and your cats before the booking begins. It's completely free and helps ensure your cats are comfortable with me before you travel. It's also a great opportunity to go over routines, feeding instructions, and any special requirements.

Question 6

Do I need to be home during visits?

Accepted Answer

No — most clients leave a key with me before their trip. I use a Key Release Form to document key handover securely. You'll receive updates and photos during visits so you can relax knowing your cats are in safe hands.

Question 7

What happens if my cat gets sick while I'm away?

Accepted Answer

Your cat's welfare is my top priority. If I notice any signs of illness or injury, I'll contact you immediately. I'll also contact your nominated vet if needed. I ask all clients to provide their vet's details when booking so I can act quickly in any situation.

Question 8

Can you administer medication to my cat?

Accepted Answer

Yes, I can administer certain medications including tablets, liquids, and topical treatments. I ask clients to complete a Medication Administration Form detailing the medication, dosage, and instructions. Please discuss your cat's needs with me before booking so I can confirm I'm able to help.

Question 9

Are you insured?

Accepted Answer

Yes, I'm fully insured for pet sitting and also hold a current DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check, giving you complete peace of mind when trusting me with your home and your cats.

Question 10

How does pricing work?

Accepted Answer

Pricing is based on visit type, number of days, and number of cats. A 25% deposit is required to secure your booking, with the remaining balance charged automatically 72 hours before your start date. There is a small surcharge of £3 per visit for households with 3 or more cats. Peak period surcharges also apply: +20% during school holidays, and +50% during Christmas and New Year. An emergency callout surcharge of +25% applies to any booking placed within 24 hours of the required first visit.

Question 11

Is there a charge for last-minute or emergency bookings?

Accepted Answer

Yes — a 25% emergency callout surcharge is added to bookings made within 24 hours of the required first visit. This is applied automatically and shown clearly in your price summary before you submit. It reflects the short-notice nature of the request and the need to rearrange schedules at very short notice.

Question 12

What is your cancellation policy?

Accepted Answer

Cancellations within 14 days of your booking start date will result in loss of your deposit. Cancellations within 3–13 days will also incur a charge of 50% of the remaining balance. Cancellations within 72 hours will be charged in full — no refund will be issued. Bookings are non-transferrable; any change of dates requires a brand new booking with a new deposit. Please see our full Cancellation Policy page for details.

Question 13

When is the peak period surcharge applied?

Accepted Answer

There are two peak period rates. A 20% surcharge applies during school holidays (half-terms and summer holidays). A 50% surcharge applies during the Christmas and New Year period. Peak dates are clearly marked on the availability calendar when you book, so you'll always see the correct price before confirming.

Question 14

How do I pay the deposit?

Accepted Answer

Once your booking request is reviewed and accepted, Jo will send you a secure payment link via email for your 25% deposit. Paying the deposit confirms your booking. The remaining balance is then charged automatically to your saved card 72 hours before your booking start date — no action needed from you.

Question 15

What is the Client Portal?

Accepted Answer

The Client Portal is your personal dashboard where you can view all your bookings, see payment history, and manage your saved payment details. You can access it anytime at the Client Portal page on this website. It's a handy way to keep track of everything in one place.
