Keeping Cats Safe in Winter

As the temperature drops, here's how to keep your cat cosy and safe:

Indoor Cats

• Provide warm spots away from draughts
• A heated cat bed can work wonders for older cats
• Keep them entertained with new toys and puzzle feeders

Outdoor Access Cats

• Always ensure they can get back inside
• Check sheds and garages before locking up — cats love to sneak in
• Wipe their paws when they come in to remove any grit salt

Feeding

• Outdoor cats may need slightly more food in winter as they burn energy keeping warm
• Always keep water fresh and unfrozen

Health

• Watch for signs of arthritis in older cats — cold weather can make it worse
• Keep up with flea treatments even in winter
